New Chairman for SRK Consulting

The Board of SRK Consulting (Australasia) Pty Ltd is pleased to announce the appointment of Principal Consultant Simon Hanrahan as its new Chairman. Simon replaces outgoing Chairman Mike Warren who has stepped down after seven years in the role. Mike will continue in his role as Corporate Consultant (Project Evaluations) based in Sydney.
‘Mike has been a fantastic asset to SRK Consulting as Chairman. The leadership and wisdom that he brought to the role over the years has been invaluable’, says SRK managing director Brian Middleton. ‘As incoming chairman, Simon will bring his depth of industry experience to the Chairman role and provide great leadership for SRK’.
Simon has over 25 year’s industry experience having worked globally, in South Africa, Australia and the USA, in multiple commodities, in both surface and underground projects and operations.
He joined SRK Consulting from Rio Tinto in January 2010 to head up Perth’s Underground Mining team, which provides technical services for underground mines and projects, from early to late stage design.
‘His specialist knowledge of block cave mining, as well as his proven ability to manage major projects across multiple commodities, is seen as a major asset to SRK who now provides a wide range of services including geology, geotechnics, water, waste and environmental to the mining industry’, says Brian.
Simon’s appointment complements three highly experienced and diverse additions to the Board; geologists Deborah Lord and Louis Bucci and geotechnical engineer Jeff Price.
